She placed as a third place 3 participant in an audition for Canadian Idol Season 5. Following the show, she released her debut album Tug of War in 2008. The album reached the top spot on the Canadian Albums Chart. Second album Kiss was released in 2012. This album produced Call Me Maybe, a chart-topping hit track. It was a huge hit across the world, topping charts in over 18 nations. Around 15 million albums were sold. She has since released three albums and has won numerous awards and been nominated for two Grammys. Carly Rae has made a considerable amount of money from her music career.
