Andra Day and Andi Matichak
Cassandra Monique Batie also known as Andra is an American R&B soul, soul and singer/songwriter. She has been awarded many awards, such as an Grammy Award a Children's and Family Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award along with nominations for the Academy Award. Andra Day is an extremely skilled and powerful performer. It's not like she's the throwback R&B professional, but her roots in gospel jazz and the blues is evident and translates to today's music. Her debut album Cheers to the Fall (2015) is an immediate hit in the R&B/hiphop genre that earned her a host of Grammy and Academy Award nominations. Stand Up for Something (2017) was her contribution to Marshall's soundtrack, earned her both awards. Amen, the singles Make Your Troubles Away and The United States Versus Billie Holiday all have singles that are creating anticipation ahead of the release of her second album. Andra is born Cassandra Monique Batie on Edmonds Washington. After growing up within San Diego and surrounding areas, she began performing in church and enrolled to at the School of Creative and Performing Arts. After the graduation ceremony, she started to gravitate towards modern R&B, pop and jazz but found herself drawn back to jazz and soul vocalists of the earlier. Kai Millard Morris caught her performance and donated some of Day's music to Stevie Wonder. Motown legend Adrian Gurvitz was introduced to Day by the Motown legend. In partnership together with Gurvitz as well as Jeffrey Evans' Buskin label Day gained a large YouTube following and eventually signed to major label Warner Bros. n 2012 Day released her debut single Forever Mine on YouTube. This song was immediately heard on radio by many DJs. Her debut album Cheers To The Fall (2015) was recorded by the Adrian Gurvitz. The album was released by Warner Bros. Records. The album included the single Rise Up, which was a popular anthem for social justice movements across the globe. Day was nominated to win two Grammy Awards, which included Best R&B Album. The United States against Billie Holiday is a conceptual recording about the famous jazz musician. The album was released by Day in the year. The United States Versus Billie Holiday is a biographical account of Holiday and was released that following year. Andi Mathichak was born and raised in the US. Her debut came in the movie Halloween as Allyson, after appearing in numerous television shows like Orange Is the New Black (Orange is the new black), Park Avenue (666 Park Avenue (666 Park Avenue), Blue Bloods and Orange Is the new black. Andi Mattichak was born on May 3, 1994 in Framingham Mass.
